Ashtead Players: A Tomb With a View

Local amateur dramatic company, Ashtead Players, put on a fantastic performance of A Tomb with a View this November.

Ashtead Players are looking to repeat the record success of their last production, Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee, with another thriller but this time with the bonus of a massive injection of comedy! They will be performing A Tomb with a View by Norman Robbins from Wednesday 15 to Saturday 18 November 2023 at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, The Street, Ashtead KT21 2BE.

The play is set in the library of a sinister old house, where a dusty lawyer reads a multimillion pound will to an equally sinister family. One has werewolf tendencies, another thinks he’s Julius Caesar, and a third buries more than seeds in her flower beds. With the addition of a sympathetic nurse and an author of romantic novels, who will be the last man (or woman) standing?

Director Phill Bingham (freshly resurrected after being ‘killed off’ in Black Coffee) says “A Tomb with a Viewsomehow manages to combine multiple murders with a huge amount of laughter! Black Coffee had Hercule Poirot to solve the mystery but this time it’s up to the audience to try and work out what’s going on – I wonder how many will get it right!”

Performances are at 7.45pm from Wednesday 15 to Saturday 18 November with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets are available on the door for £15 or in advance for £12 via https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/ashteadplayers, box office 07598 121477 or in person from Buckley’s Pharmacy in Barnett Wood Lane or The Framing Workshop in The Street.
