Local Ashtead company, Martha Moon Creations, sells eco-friendly hand-painted wooden peg dolls and resources – perfect for open-ended, imaginative play for kids of any age. Rachel is an exceptionally talented artist whose skill is evident in every single doll she paints. 

We first bought a pack of dolls from Martha Moon Creations for our little three-year-old girl. We purchased a set containing a mother duck and her five ducklings. Painted with precise detail, each one has stood the test of time and, almost three years later, looks as good as new. They’ve been played with extensively, in all manner of ways, encouraging our little three-year-old to count and take part in imaginative play. 

All for an extremely reasonable price too. Dolls start at about £6.50, while the range at Rachel’s Etsy store is phenomenal. You’ll find all manner of historical figures alongside fictional characters and woodland animals - to name just a few.
