What we like about them

Founded by Claire Mortimer-Givens, Bricks and Mortimer is an interior design house which offers a wide range of services. Through them, you can order beautiful handmade curtains, blinds and cushions, or you can go all out and ask to have a complete interior design service for any room in your home (or all of them!). 

Whenever we’ve worked with Claire, we have been so grateful for her help, each and every time. That’s because Claire is so easy to work with - she listens to what we want and really takes on board what we say, offering practical advice as well as suggestions as to what would work well in our various projects. Her guidance is always invaluable and makes life so much easier too. By narrowing down the choices we choose from, in offering us her recommendations - be it what tap to pick, what type of material to use, or how we use a room - she makes the entire process so much smoother and much more straightforward. She’s a great solution for those of us who are time poor or overwhelmed by choice. Plus, having her expert opinion can really minimise arguments between spouses and partners you are renovating with!

And what an expert opinion. Claire trained as an interior designer at the KLC School of Design where she qualified with distinction. It means she really knows her stuff, but just as important, her customer service skills are top notch too. No question is too silly for her, with her passion for transforming spaces clear to see. She uses floor plans, sample boards and digital visuals to show you her ideas - which makes seeing the final vision for a room before it starts so much easier. 

She also works tirelessly to ensure the end result is delivered on budget. We found that so important. We all know how easy it is for budgets to eek their way up, slowly but surely, meaning the final cost is far more than what we had hoped for. With Claire’s help, that isn’t the case!

The result? Beautiful rooms, with beautiful decor that you’ll love spending time in.
