What we like about them

On a scorching hot afternoon, we had the pleasure of trying out Angel Yoga Surrey’s new class location at Parsons Mead, Ashtead Cricket Club. Despite it being so hot, from the moment we stepped into the class, there was an overriding feeling of calm and quiet - plus it was about 10 degrees cooler too! In the Winter, though, the Scout hut remains cosy and warm.

Claire, Angel Yoga’s owner and instructor, welcomed us with a warm and friendly smile, instantly putting us at ease. Her welcoming demeanour made us feel like we had walked into a class we had been to regularly over the years, as opposed to it being our first time.

What we loved most about Claire was her teaching style. She guided us through each pose with clarity, ensuring we were listening to our bodies and making yoga accessible to all skill levels. Her instructions were easy to follow, and she provided helpful adjustments when needed, ensuring that each participant was comfortable and safe throughout the class.

Another part of the class we loved was the inclusion of essential oils during the practice. The subtle fragrances enhanced the calming atmosphere and added an extra layer of relaxation to the session. It's a small touch, but it made a big difference in how we felt during and after the class.

The highlight of the session was undoubtedly the final meditation(!). As we settled into a peaceful savasana, Claire gave us a soothing head massage to leave us feeling blissfully relaxed. It was the perfect way to conclude the practice and made us feel truly calm.

In terms of pricing, a drop-in class at Angel Yoga Surrey is just £12, making it accessible to all. If you plan to attend regularly, buying a block of four classes for £40 offers a cost-effective option, allowing you to deepen your practice without breaking the bank. These sessions are available online too, while Claire offers one-to-one sessions as well. Finally, Claire also runs classes for children after school on a Tuesday at Barnett Wood Infants.

So, if you're looking for a yoga class that nourishes both your body and soul, we highly recommend giving Angel Yoga Surrey a try. You won't be disappointed!

WOULD WE USE THEM AGAIN?

Definitely, self-care Thursdays will be our new thing thanks to regular attendance at Claire’s class.
